Pirelli Secures 82nd Motocross World Championship Title with Jorge Prado

Pirelli has once again demonstrated its dominance in motocross, winning its 82nd World Championship title. In a remarkable 2024 season, Pirelli’s SCORPION™ MX32™ tyres were used by riders who claimed 19 out of 20 Grand Prix victories, achieved 18 pole positions, and secured 37 heat wins out of 40.

The 2024 FIM Motocross World Championship culminated with Jorge Prado of RedBull GasGas Factory Racing clinching the MXGP World Champion title, riding his Pirelli SCORPION™ MX32™-equipped GasGas MC 450F. Prado’s victory marks a significant achievement for Pirelli, further solidifying its dominance in the sport.

Record-Breaking Season for Pirelli

Jorge Prado’s triumph adds to Pirelli’s impressive motocross legacy, with this being the brand’s 82nd World Championship title. The 2024 season was a historic one, with Pirelli riders sweeping the competition—winning 19 out of 20 Grand Prix, taking 18 pole positions, and capturing 37 out of 40 heats.

The final championship standings saw an all-Pirelli podium, with Prado in first, followed by Tim Gajser (HRC) in second, and Jeffrey Herlings (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) in third.

Decisive Victory at the Castile la Mancha GP

The MXGP World Championship was fiercely contested across 20 Grand Prix events, with the final showdown taking place in Spain at the Castile la Mancha GP. Jorge Prado entered the race weekend with a seven-point lead over Slovenian rider Tim Gajser. By the end of Saturday’s qualifying, Prado had extended his lead by an additional two points.

In Sunday’s races, Prado secured first place in race one and finished fourth in race two, ultimately finishing the season 10 points ahead of Gajser. This marks Prado’s fourth World Championship title—his previous wins include the MX2 titles in 2018 and 2019 and last year’s MXGP title, all achieved with Pirelli tyres.

Pirelli’s Success in the EMX125 European Motocross Championship

Pirelli’s dominance extended to the EMX125 European Motocross Championship, where Hungarian rider Noel Zanocz (Fantic) claimed the championship title. Italian rider Simone Mancini (Fantic) also secured a strong third-place finish, further showcasing Pirelli’s unmatched performance in motocross.
